Overview
ARMember allows you to easily import or export users and plugin settings from the General Settings page. Using CSV, XML, or text files, you can quickly manage member data and restore settings whenever needed.
In order to set it up, go to the Import/Export tab on the General Settings page. Where you can see four different sections of the import and export process.

Steps to Import Users
To import members, follow the below steps:
- Upload your
CSVorXMLfile exported previously from this plugin only. - Select one of the plans to import members into the selected plan.
- Click on the Import button, and then a popup will open with a list of users with their details.
- You can select users whom you want to import. You can not select existing users from the list.
- After selecting users, click on the Add button to import users into the system.
Important Note: If the selected plan is of the subscription type, then all the imported members’ payment modes will be considered manual (semi-automatic). ARMember does not allow linking imported members with their already started automatic recurring payments in any ARMember-supported payment gateway.
How to import users?
ARMember does provide a facility to download the sample CSV file. In order to download this, navigate to the ARMember ⇾ General Settings ⇾ Import/Export Tab. Here you will be able to check a section, Import User Details; from here you can download a sample file.
Once a sample file is downloaded, then one can add the meta_key of the field as a field column name and then add the data in below rows. You can get the meta_key either from the form by editing the field or from the ARMember ⇾ General Settings page at the Edit Preset Form Fields button.
How do you set a plan start date for imported users?
You are allowed to import subscription start dates for each user by adding one specific column arm_subscription_start_date to the import file. The column name must be arm_subscription_start_date; otherwise, it will not work. Also, the date format must be like ‘2017-12-30’ (yyyy-mm-dd).
Password Options During Import
While importing users, you can configure passwords using one of the following methods:
Set Fixed Password:
You can set a common password for all imported users.
Generate Dynamically:
Here a dynamic password will get generated for all imported users. An email will be sent to those users regarding their password.
Set Password available in Import File:
You can set the same user password from the import file. But your file must have a column name as “user_pass.” Otherwise, this option will not work.
Import Settings
Here you will be able to import your previously exported settings from ARMember.
To import settings, follow the below steps:
- Open
Textfile exported previously from this plugin only. - Copy file content and paste it into the Import Setting textarea.
- Click on the Import button. That’s it.
