ARMember Payment Methods for Subscription Plans
ARMember supports two types of payment methods for paid and recurring subscription plans in the following way.
1. Auto-Debit Method
2. Semi-Automatic (Manual) Method
When configuring payment types, ARMember provides three options:
- Auto-Debit
- Semi-Automatic (Manual)
- Both—Allows users to choose their preferred payment method during signup.
In order to set this, you can navigate to the ARMember ⇾ Configure Plan + Signup Page ⇾ Add/Edit Form.
How does each payment method work?

The system automatically processes recurring payments at each billing cycle. Thus, the user does not need to take any action.
The user must manually complete the payment at the end of each billing cycle. Payments must be made through your system for each renewal until all recurring cycles are completed.
How to Enable Manual Payment for Users?
ARMember makes it easy to allow users to pay for the next billing cycle in manual subscriptions. Follow the steps below:
- Add Membership Shortcode at Classic Editor:
- Add Membership Shortcode at Gutenberg Editor:
- 1. In the Paid Finite Plan the plan will expire after a certain time, and the payment is received only once.
- 2. In the Paid Infinite Plan, the member gets access to this plan for life, and again, the payment is only made once.
- 3. And at last, for the Free Plan, this plan does not include any payment.
Once you click on the Membership Shortcode, then a popup will appear with multiple options. Here you can navigate to Others ⇾ Current Membership
You must enable the Display Renew Button to display the Make Payment button.
How Does the Make Payment Button Work?
The Make Payment button appears only until all recurring payments are completed. After all cycles are done, a Renew button replaces it.
When clicked, the user will be prompted to select a payment gateway to proceed with the next billing cycle. The user cannot change the payment method or cycle during this process. So payment mode and payment cycle selection will remain hidden.
Important Notes
In the case of Paid Finite, Paid Infinite, Free plan, the Make Payment button will not be displayed.
The Make Payment button appears only for Manual Recurring Subscriptions, and only until all cycles are completed.
It is not shown for auto debit subscriptions, as those are processed automatically.
The button will remain disabled if the setup_id=”ID” used in the shortcode is invalid or missing.
